Wingfoiling is currently the most modern and addictive water sport around. At the Ocean Lodge, we have the perfect spot for you to experience your first flights in a smooth and safe environment.
Thanks to the constant Varatraza wind and its ideal direction (side-onshore), you’ll never be blown out to sea. What’s more, the water is perfectly sheltered from the waves by the reef, offering a smooth (flat) surface that eliminates choppy conditions, making it easier to stay stable and get the foil up off the water early.

Step 1
Handling the wing
Learn how to handle the wing on the sand and then on a wide board with a large fin (SUP). Understand how to control power and direction, and move around without using the foil at first.

First Take-offs
Try out a board designed specifically for wingfoiling, fitted with a large hydrofoil and a short beginner’s mast. Experience the magical sensation of flight, learn how to control your trim, and enjoy your first glides through the air.
Further training
Learn how to climb effectively upwind in the air, stabilise your flights at high speed, try your hand at aerial jibes (turning without touching the water) or make the most of the offshore swell while riding downwind.
